Hope everyone survived the big snow storm. You probably managed to get some projects done! I certain did. This January clean up I even found warps from last year! lol
Big Thanks to neighbour Bob! He rounded up all the neighbour kids and took them around the big sheep pasture on 3 toboggans. The sheep were of course hiding in the barn.

The 12 days of Christmas are nearly over. In the olden days it was time to pick up your spinning and get back to work. We have lots of fibre for Distaff Day if you are lacking lol! On Friday at St Peters Anglican Church Hall in Duncan, there is a Distaff Day celebration. I will be going and am happy to get back to see everyone again after our covid years.

We have spent some busy time in the studio this year. We did lots of dying and it seemed to just march right out the door. We introduced some dyed silk and have them available in small lots(20 meters/65feet for$5.72+gst.) for embroidering that something special on your project🪡
We have plans for more classes in the new year. Some our our most popular are the needle felting classes. Our instructor Marion Vandall made herself available to come up from Victoria to teach. Thank you so much Marion for all your help throughout the year. We will see you in the New Year!😊

Well 2022 summer is just around the corner I am certain. I think?? The weather has tucked us into the studio and we have been doing some dyeing. We have some sock yarn done it insparational colours. There is hardly ever bad weather for wool socks.
We so enjoyed going to the Bradley center for the 100 Mile Fleece and Fibre festival. Nice to see some familiar faces and meet some new people. I receieved lots of questions on various classes. I find people are shy about spending a full day in a class or workshop. Covid has changed some of our habits for sure.
I am happy to give a one on one class for weaving, spinning, felting. A popular thing lately has been to celebrate a friend’s brithday, by giving her a class and friends joining in.

I hope everyone had a good summer. Now is the time the outside activities are winding down as it is getting darker sooner. Our thoughts turn to doing fun inside projects. I have already started a few projects myself, dying sock yarns, weaving and some nuno felting. I have also looked at the calendar and can not believe how fast time has gone by and September is right around the corner.

It is quiet on the farm these days. The sheep have left to have their staycation. They will be back in the fall. The fleeces are being processed.
The garden is growing! The farm stand has been moved up closer to the garden. Farmer Sam will be busy again.
